Baseball Recap: Andrew Comes Up Short

Andrew was the 4-3 winner over Morris when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunderbolts fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Thunderbolts have lost by exactly two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Andrew and nudges their season record down to 14-18. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 23-9 Lockport (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.3% over those games). As for Morris, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrew will face off against Lockport at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Porters' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Thunderbolts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Morris, they will challenge Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.58 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
