Baseball Recap: Staunton Comes Up Short

Staunton fell victim to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to the Bluejays. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Staunton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Coalson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Coalson has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Staunton's defeat dropped their record down to 17-15-1. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season.

Staunton will challenge Belleville East at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, they will face off against Winchester at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
