Softball Recap: Ralston's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Ralston dropped down to 21-7 on Saturday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 8-0 to the Pius X Thunderbolts. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunderbolts earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

As for Pius X, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-17 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

For Pius X's part, Adee Duggan made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Duggan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kendal Heimes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten matchups.

As of now, neither Ralston nor Pius X have any future games scheduled.
