Laurel never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past the Northwestern Wildcats to the tune of 34-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their eight-point performance the game before.

Laurel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Demerius Custis out in front who rushed for 43 yards and one score, and also threw for 31 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another rusher making a difference was Andre Stokes, who rushed for 62 yards and one TD.

Laurel now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Northwestern, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
