Football Game Preview: Maize Eagles vs. East Aces + How To Watch

The Maize Eagles will square off against the East Aces on Friday. Maize will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Maize is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North 76-0. Fans of the Eagles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Maize's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Myovela, who threw for 140 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing. Demarye Smith helped Myovela out on the ground, rushing for 74 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.

Maize was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 309 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Maize didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hunter Bird and Brodie Jep Jarvis. Jep Jarvis is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another thorn in North's side was Atticus Marcenaro, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, East earned a 27-18 win over Dodge City on Friday.

East found their leader in sophomore Princedakari Marshall, who rushed for 67 yards and two scores, and also threw for 46 yards and one touchdown.

Maize's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for East, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
