Soccer Recap: Firebaugh Find Success

Firebaugh lost to Summit Charter Collegiate Academy back in February of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Eagles skirted past the Bears 2-1. Given Firebaugh's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Summit Charter Collegiate Academy are ranked 266th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amairany Ruiz and Alexa Martinez scored both of Firebaugh's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

The win made it two in a row for Firebaugh and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Firebaugh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
