Baseball Recap: Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy Comes Up Short

Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-8. They lost 14-4 to the Elbert County Blue Devils. If Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy was looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to Elbert County when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Landon Forsythe was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Colt Clark, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Elbert County, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. 14 seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Elbert County's side, Brody Baker made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Baker has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Brayden Ingram was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jackson Black also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

While Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
