Baseball Game Preview: Brookwood Broncos vs. Westlake Lions

The Brookwood Broncos will face off against the Westlake Lions at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. Brookwood will be strutting in after a win while Westlake will be coming in after a loss.

Brookwood barely beat Archer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Brookwood never let Archer get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Broncos, who have now won three contests in a row.

Brookwood got a great performance from Joe Soto as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Soto also tossed two walks, which is notable because Brookwood is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 2-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Michael Heath and Mason Archie did most of the damage at the plate: Heath went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double, while Archie scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Archie a new career-high. Boomer Rogozinski was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Brookwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Westlake duked it out with Villa Rica on Monday. Westlake lost 12-2 to Villa Rica. The match marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Brookwood, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
