Jal unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 52-0 loss at the hands of the Dexter Demons on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Dexter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cj Granados, who rushed for 50 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 129 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Granados a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Alexis Castro was Granados' top target, picking up three receiving yards.
Jal wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 32-14 loss against Santa Rosa on the 29th. As for Dexter, they have also already played their next game, a 50-23 win against West Las Vegas on the 29th.
