Baseball Recap: Jacobs Wins Going Away Against Rolling Meadows

Jacobs had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Rolling Meadows on Saturday. The Eagles blew past the Mustangs 9-3. The Eagles not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 6-0).

Max Dailey tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Andrew Deegan was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Gulgren, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Jacobs' record now sits at 15-6. As for Rolling Meadows, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jacobs will host Dundee-Crown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rolling Meadows, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Wheeling at 4:45 p.m.
