Basketball Recap: San Luis Sidewinders vs. Cibola Raiders
After flying high against Antelope last Monday, San Luis came back down to earth. The San Luis Sidewinders were dealt an 89-16 defeat at the hands of the Cibola Raiders on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Sidewinders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Raiders are ranked 91st).
San Luis' loss came despite strong showings from Vanessa Ambriz and Natalia Medina. Ambriz posted 11 points, while Medina scored two points and five rebounds.
Leading Cibola to victory were Jaida Bosch and Mariana Vega. Bosch dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten assists, while Vega dropped a triple-double on 21 points, ten boards, and 12 steals.
