Football Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short on the Road Against Skyridge

Liberty kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost to the Skyridge Falcons on the road by a 45-27 margin. The Patriots were down 36-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Liberty's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ezra Sanelivi, who rushed for 122 yards and one TD. Kellen Iwamuro was another key pass catcher, picking up 116 receiving yards and one score.

Kaneal Sweetwyne had an outrageously good game for Skyridge as he threw for 283 yards and five touchdowns. Lincoln Tahi helped Sweetwyne out on the ground, picking up 52 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 31 yards and one score.

Skyridge has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Liberty has already played their next contest, a 33-0 win against Kailua on the 30th. As for Skyridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-0 victory against East on the 29th.
