While Brighton put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Mountain Range. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Mustangs. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.
Laikyn Lanzen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lanzen was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024.
In other batting news, Suki Mizunaga was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Taylor Waltenburg was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Brighton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive contests.
Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Mountain Range, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will face off against Northglenn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
