Softball Recap: Jordan Red Jackets vs. Columbus Blue Devils
Jordan extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping them down to 4-11. They came up short against the Columbus Blue Devils, falling 19-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-0 defeat last Tuesday.
As for Columbus, they now have a winning record of 8-7. The game marked their most dominant win of the season so far.
For Columbus' part, Emily Balauitan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Balauitan has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Columbus got a big performance out of Lexi Winchester, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that Winchester has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Aubrie McBride, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
