George Walton Academy had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Piedmont Academy Cougars by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mason Thomason tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Braden Callaway, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Mac Maughon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

George Walton Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Piedmont Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

George Walton Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Piedmont Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
