The Liberty Eagles will challenge the Macomb Bombers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Liberty barely beat Hamilton/Warsaw the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Titans on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Gavin Edgar made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Liberty's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 9-10-1 when he doesn't). Edgar was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Liberty got a massive performance out of Reed Sparrow, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. The Eagles are 8-1 when Sparrow posts two or more runs, but 4-9-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Layne Bent, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, while Macomb put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Brown County. The Bombers put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Macomb's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 12-10-1.
Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Macomb in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bombers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
