Baseball Game Preview: Parkview Panthers vs. Hillgrove Hawks

For the second straight game, Parkview will face off against Hillgrove. The Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Parkview's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Hillgrove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Parkview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Hillgrove 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Emani Ford was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Andres Jimenez tossed a big game, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.

Back at the plate, Malachi Washington was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

This is the second loss in a row for Hillgrove and nudges their season record down to 21-13. As for Parkview, their record now sits at 26-9.
