Baseball Recap: Morrison Has No Trouble Against Oregon

Morrison lost to Oregon back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 12-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ayden Meinsma and Carson White were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Meinsma pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, White didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Morrison is 5-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 9-10 otherwise. At bat, Meinsma got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while White went 1-for-5 with four RBI and one stolen base. That's the most runs Meinsma has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Collin Renkes, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Morrison is undefeated when Renkes posts three or more RBI, but 9-12 otherwise. Brayden Rubright was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Morrison's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Oregon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-19-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Morrison nor Oregon have any future games scheduled.
