Baseball Recap: Burke County Comes Up Short

Burke County fell victim to Lakeside and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Burke County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lakeside, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3.

Coming up, Burke County will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Georgia School for Innovation & Classics at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeside, they are taking a road trip to challenge Thomson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.8 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
