Athens Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the George Walton Academy Bulldogs on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Athens Christian, bringing their record up to 21-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for George Walton Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-19 record.
