Two-time defending North Carolina state champion Reidsville has the longest streak in the nation at 60 in a row.
Reidsville (N.C.) enters the 2025-26 high school basketball season with the longest active win streak in the nation at 60 games in a row. With another unbeaten state championship run, the Rams could tie the state record for consecutive wins.
Beaufort, which is now
East Carteret (Beaufort, N.C.), won 91 straight games from 1960 to 1962 for the North Carolina record. Reidsville, which went 29-0 in 2023-24 and 31-0 in 2024-25, will need to repeat last year's record in order to tie the mark. The Rams are the favorite to win a third straight state championship due to the return of
Dionte Neal (22.9 points per game) and
Kendre Harrison (15.7).
Reidsville tops the list of the longest active win streaks in each state. Other states that could have a new win streak leader by the end of the season include Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Massachusetts, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.

Crane (Ore.) has the best shot at breaking a state record. The Mustangs, with 45 in a row after a 30-0 season last year, need just 12 straight wins to start the season in order to break the state record of 56 by
Oakland from 1999 to 2001. Crane will have only four returning players from last year's roster, however.
Reidsville is one of two teams to string together back-to-back undefeated seasons.
Glens Falls (N.Y.), which has gone 27-0 the past two seasons, is the other.
Hoover (Ala.) and
Loretto (Tenn.) had the best undefeated records last year at 35-0.
