Softball Recap: Bleckley County Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Bleckley County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They never let the Northeast Raiders get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 23, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Emmie Williams was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Bleckley County let Natalie Fordham and Ashanti Flagg run wild. Fordham went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Flagg got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Flagg's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nyra Waters, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bleckley County's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Northeast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Bleckley County will face off against Dublin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
