Baseball Game Preview: Springfield vs. Pawnee Indians

Springfield will challenge the Pawnee Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Springfield made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Granite City, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Springfield fell just short of Granite City by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. Springfield hasn't had much luck with Granite City recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Springfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karter Marks, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pawnee had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Athletics as they made off with a 15-4 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Pawnee, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.

Springfield was able to grind out a solid win over Pawnee in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 4-0. Will Springfield repeat their success, or does Pawnee has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
