High school baseball: National home run leaders

Georgia, Florida and North Carolina hitters lead the nation in bombs.

Power hitters from Georgia, Florida and North Carolina each have hit 11 home runs to lead high school baseball nationally.

Senior Luke Stevenson of Wake Forest (N.C.) is a catcher hitting .585 with 11 home runs. Twice this season the future North Carolina Tar Heel hit three home runs in a single game.

Cooper Jones of North Marion (Citra, Fla.) has been on fire in April. The senior has hit six of his 11 home runs this month including three in a 7-6 win over Gainesville.

Junior Judah Powell has hit home runs in four straight games for Apalachee (Winder, Ga.). Not only does Powell hit .390 with 28 RBI, but on the mound he is 5-2 with a 3.10 ERA and 64 strikeouts.



Collin Priest of Mount Dora Christian Academy (Mount Dora, Fla.), Tai Peete of Trinity Christian (Sharpsburg, Ga.) and Sam Lindsey of Snow Canyon (St. George, Utah) all have 10 home runs.
