Basketball Recap: Juniata Valley Skates Past Moshannon Valley with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Juniata Valley over Moshannon Valley in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Juniata Valley Hornets blew the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels out of the water with a 52-16 final score. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Juniata Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aubrey Anderson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Anderson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Taylor, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 16 points.

The win made it two in a row for Juniata Valley and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Moshannon Valley, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Juniata Valley will head out to square off against Williamsburg at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Moshannon Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Curwensville at 6:00 p.m. Moshannon Valley is facing Curwensville at the right time seeing as Curwensville is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
