California's top teams are two wins shy of reaching state finals at Golden 1 Arena in Sacramento March 11-12.
The semifinals of the California Interscholastic Federation
Regional boys and girls basketball tournament are Saturday. All games begin at 6 p.m. unless at sites of doubleheaders, where second games are at 8 p.m.
With a remarkable showing in the quarterfinals, the Southern Section has by far the most teams left with 20, followed by North Coast (7), Central Coast and Sac-Joaquin (five), Central (4), Northern and San Diego (two) and Los Angeles, Oakland and San Francisco (1).
The winners of Saturday's games face of Tuesday in the semifinals at home sites.
The winners in each of six
divisions meet to crown state champions March 11-12 at Golden 1 Center
in Sacramento. The championships were cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
