Softball Recap: Sterling Sets Scoring Season-High Against Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sterling). They were the clear victors by a 20-12 margin over the Valley Vikings on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Sterling and bumps their season record up to 8-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sterling will face off against Limon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley, they will square off against Platte Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
