Baseball Recap: Summit Hilltoppers vs. Cranford Cougars

Summit extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-10-1. They came up short against the Cranford Cougars, falling 15-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Tuesday.

As for Cranford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

For Cranford's part, the team relied heavily on Michael Tripodi, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Tripodi has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Adam Kielczynski, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Summit will be playing at home against Dayton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cranford, they are taking a road trip to take on Union at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
