Football Recap: Mohawk Area's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mohawk Area had lost four straight headed into Friday's game, but Bobby Fadden didn't let it get to five. The Warriors came out on top against the Union Area Scotties by a score of 28-21 on Friday with plenty of help from Fadden, who rushed for 86 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Mohawk Area's leading receiver Landyn Argiro was Fadden's top target yet again, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score. Argiro also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Mohawk Area's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Union Area, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mohawk Area will head out to take on New Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union Area, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Freedom Area at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
