Soccer Game Preview: Athens Christian vs. Lakeview Academy

The Athens Christian Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Lakeview Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Monday. Athens Christian took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Riverside Military Academy. Athens Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Lakeview Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Tallulah Falls, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Lakeview Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Tallulah Falls are ranked 67th).

Athens Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Lakeview Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Athens Christian couldn't quite get it done against Lakeview Academy when the teams last played back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
