Fabian Garcia of San Benito is the Texas High School Football Player of the Week

Senior running back carried Greyhounds to a 21-10 rivalry game win over Harlingen.

After receiving over 2,000 votes, Fabian Garcia of San Benito has earned MaxPreps Texas High School Football Player of the Week honors.

Garcia, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound senior, ran 32 times for 274 yards and a pair of scores in a 21-10 rivalry game win over Harlingen. He has 1,179 rushing yards and 16 TDs for the season and another 251 receiving yards with four scores.

Here are the rest of this week's candidates

* Marvin Duffey, DeSoto: Senior running back carried 17 times for 174 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-13 win over Cedar Hill.

* Edward Griffin, Coppell: Junior signal caller completed 15 of 24 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-0 win over Hebron.



* Braylon Henry, Lorena: Senior carried 33 times for 255 yards and five touchdowns in a 52-49 win over Franklin.

* Adam Hill, Albany: Senior running back ran 22 times for 264 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also catching two passes for 31 yards and a score in a 44-0 win over Roscoe.

* Hudson Hutcheson, Frenship (Wolfforth): Senior quarterback completed 24 of 30 passes for 425 yards and six touchdowns in a 46-44 win over Permian.

* Josiah Martin, Guyer (Denton): Senior wide receiver hauled in eight passes for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 24-18 win over Allen.

* Chris Martinez Jr., Red Oak: Ran for 262 yards and five touchdowns on 27 carries while catching two passes for 35 yards and another score in a 56-37 win over Killeen.

* Jett Surratt, Carthage: Sophomore signal caller completed 16 of 21 passes for 413 yards and six touchdowns in a 72-27 win over Center.



* Michael Wilson, Klein Collins (Spring): Senior carried 22 times for 152 yards and three scores in a 42-33 win over Klein Cain.
