Preview: Friends Select vs. Friends' Central
Friends Select has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on Friends' Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Friends Select comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-18, which was the final score in Friends Select's tilt against Academy of the New Church on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Friends Select in their matchups with Academy of the New Church: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Friends' Central is ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of St. Frances Academy. Friends' Central managed a 63-58 win over St. Frances Academy. Winning may never get old, but Friends' Central sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Friends Select bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.8 points per game. As for Friends' Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
