Baseball Recap: Round Lake Comes Up Short

Round Lake had lost 23 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-29 to make it 24. They came up short against the Larkin Royals, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-5 back in March.

Round Lake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Lozada, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Larkin, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-17 record. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

On Larkin's side, they let Aden Mora and Antonio Ventura run wild. Mora went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ventura went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Mora a new career-high. Josiah Acevedo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Round Lake nor Larkin have any future games scheduled.
