Baseball Recap: Althoff Catholic Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Althoff Catholic can now relate to. They fell 4-0 to the Mater Dei Knights on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in April.

Althoff Catholic has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-24 record this season. As for Mater Dei, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-18 record this season.

Althoff Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they will face off against Father McGivney Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Griffins have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
