Football Game Preview: Osage City Indians vs. Caney Valley Bullpups + Official Tickets

The Osage City Indians will challenge the Caney Valley Bullpups on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Osage City comes in on three and Caney Valley on six.

Osage City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Atchison County to the tune of 60-7. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Tigers are ranked 126th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Osage City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reed Silver out in front who threw for 138 yards and three TDs on perfect 8-for-8 passing, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, Silver racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Tate Smith made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Osage City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 205 rushing yards in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Caney Valley made easy work of Riverton on Friday and carried off a 48-28 win. Considering the Bullpups have won eight games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Osage City's record is now 9-1. As for Caney Valley, their record now sits at an identical 9-1.

Osage City strolled past Caney Valley in their previous matchup back in November of 2017 by a score of 37-21. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Bullpups have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
