Baseball Game Preview: Hillgrove Hawks vs. Parkview Panthers

For the second straight game, Hillgrove will face off against Parkview. The Hawks will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hillgrove heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Parkview by a score of 3-2. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

For Parkview's part, Emani Ford made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ford has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Parkview got a great performance from Andres Jimenez as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Malachi Washington, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

The win was the third in a row for Parkview, bringing their record up to 26-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hillgrove, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-13.
