Bayard hasn't had much luck against Alliance recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Bayard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Bayard took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Lexington as they made off with a 13-1 win.

Kaidence Lee made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Krista West, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Zoleigh Reffalt was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.
Bayard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.2.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Alliance finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 11-2 to Gering.
Bayard has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Alliance, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.
