Volleyball Recap: Columbia City Eagles vs. Garrett Railroaders
If Columbia City was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Whitko last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Garrett Railroaders on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Railroaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Columbia City started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 28-26, 25-13, 25-18.
Garrett found their leader in freshman Kaylee Gaar, who had 25 digs and five assists. Those 25 digs set a new season-high mark for Gaar.
