Softball Recap: Gering Wins Going Away Against Alliance

Gering won the last time they faced Alliance and things went their way on Tuesday too. Gering was the clear victor by an 11-2 margin over Alliance. Considering Gering has won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gering got a great performance from Brodee Luce as she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave Luce a new career-high.

At the plate, Jacelyn Brown was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Rileigh Dane was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Gering has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Alliance, they moved to 10-17 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Gering does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alliance, they will challenge Bayard at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
