After a string of four wins, White Pine's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the GV Christian Guardians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Guardians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: GV Christian scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21.

Amaia Shedd paced White Pine's offense, picking up seven kills. Shedd got some help from Kasadie Britton and her ten assists. Finally, Shedd was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Olivia Torres was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs and four aces.

White Pine suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 18-4. As for GV Christian, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-4.

White Pine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Pahranagat Valley on the 27th. As for GV Christian, they will take on Lincoln County at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
