High school basketball: Every player with at least 2,000 career points coming out of the 2023-24 season

By Kevin Askeland May 9, 2024, 3:00pm

Kentucky's Travis Perry piled up over 5,400 points but 10 others went over 3,000 this winter.

Travis Perry of Lyon County (Eddyville, Ky.) was easily the leading scorer among high school basketball's Class of 2024, outscoring the next closest player in the class – Trent Noah of Harlan County (Harlan, Ky.) – by over 1,700 points.

Perry is one of over 100 players on a list MaxPreps has compiled who finished the 2024 season with over 2,000 career points. Most of the players on the list are seniors with a few juniors mixed in. Kentucky has three players on top of the list, with Aden Barnett of Magoffin County (Salyersville) joining Perry and Noah in the top three spots.

A total of 11 players scored over 3,000 career points. The list includes players who may have played varsity basketball during their seventh and eighth grade seasons. Sources for the list include the MaxPreps leaderboards, state association record books, Minnesota Basketball Records, state coaches association record books and selected coaches.
