Baseball Game Preview: Parkview Panthers vs. North Gwinnett Bulldogs

Parkview is 7-2 against North Gwinnett since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will welcome the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Parkview challenged Duluth on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Wildcats 15-1. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

JT Whritenour looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Malachi Washington was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Michael Bonelli was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, North Gwinnett waltzed into their contest on Monday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 13-3 victory.

North Gwinnett pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Parkview, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.

Everything went Parkview's way against North Gwinnett in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Parkview made off with an 11-5 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
