While New Franklin's win against Sturgeon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. New Franklin narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sturgeon 5-4. The win continues a trend for New Franklin in their matchups with Sturgeon: they've now won six in a row.

Callie Chitwood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, New Franklin let Lily Chitwood and Canna Jennings run wild. Chitwood went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Jennings went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
