Basketball Recap: Juniata Valley Skates Past Curwensville with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Juniata Valley). They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 63-22 win over the Curwensville Golden Tide. With the Hornets ahead 36-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Juniata Valley was led to victory by Anna Taylor and Aubrey Anderson. Taylor went 8 of 13 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Anderson posted 15 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. Anderson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Fouse, who had nine points and five rebounds.

Juniata Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Juniata Valley's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Curwensville, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juniata Valley will take on Berlin Brothersvalley in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Curwensville and Claysburg-Kimmel will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
