Softball Recap: Pueblo Central Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

There's no place like home for Pueblo Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Discovery Canyon Thunder on Saturday, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since September 6th.

Pueblo Central got a big performance out of Norah Montes, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Montes a new career-high. Sophia Perez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Pueblo Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Pueblo Central's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Discovery Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
