Volleyball Recap: St. Andrew's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of five wins, St. Andrew's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Valwood Valiants by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Valiants this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, St. Andrew's sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-27, 15-8.

Khloe Jesswein paced St. Andrew's offense, picking up nine kills. Jesswein got some help from Grace Dare and her 20 assists. Sara Carr MacDonald controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. Andrew's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Valwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

St. Andrew's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Westminster Schools of Augusta on the 27th. As for Valwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Frederica Academy on the 27th.
