With a playoff win on the line, Parkview rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hillgrove Hawks 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Emani Ford made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Parkview got a great performance from Andres Jimenez as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
Back at the plate, Malachi Washington was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
Parkview's record is now 26-9. As for Hillgrove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-13.
As of now, neither Parkview nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
