Columbia came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Fort Madison Bloodhounds with a sharp 12-3 win. Considering the Eagles have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 18-14. As for Fort Madison, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Columbia will head out to face off against Nashville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fort Madison, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-12 win against Davenport Central on the 26th.
