Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Park Lions vs. Oak Forest Bengals

The Lincoln Park Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Oak Forest Bengals at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincoln Park can't be too worried about heading out to take on Oak Forest: they just beat Northside at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Lions walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Mustangs on Tuesday.

Joshua Luciano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Luciano was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Luciano wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Everett Nach, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Nach has posted over his last ten contests. Another was Matthew Merovitz, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Lincoln Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Oak Forest had just enough and edged out Solorio 3-2 on Thursday. The Bengals haven't had any issues with the Sun Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lincoln Park's record is now 9-20-2. As for Oak Forest, their record now sits at 17-15.

Lincoln Park suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Oak Forest in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
