Softball Recap: Marion County Drops Season-High Score on Jordan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marion County). They blew past the Jordan Red Jackets 19-2 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Red Jackets: they've now won nine in a row.

Taylor O'Neal made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in August. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Taner Tyler and Haleigh Frazier did most of the damage at the plate: Tyler went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Frazier went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Frazier has posted since back in August. Addie Underwood also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Marion County's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Jordan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Marion County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jordan: the pair will be back at it again later today.
